Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG) Cell

The Socio-Economically Disadvantaged Groups (SEDG) Cell of JNCT Professional University is established to ensure equity, inclusiveness, and equal opportunities for students and staff belonging to underprivileged and marginalized sections of society. The Cell is committed to supporting the holistic development of students from socio-economically weaker backgrounds by providing guidance, assistance, and resources to help them overcome academic and social challenges.

Objectives:

  • To identify and support students belonging to socio-economically disadvantaged groups (SEDGs).
  • To provide academic, financial, and emotional support to ensure equal access to learning opportunities.
  • To create awareness about government and institutional welfare schemes, scholarships, and financial aid.
  • To organize mentoring, counseling, and skill development programs for empowerment and capacity building.
  • To promote inclusivity, sensitivity, and respect for diversity within the campus.

Functions of the SEDG Cell:

  1. Maintain a database of students belonging to socio-economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
  2. Facilitate access to scholarships, fellowships, and financial assistance programs.
  3. Conduct orientation, mentoring, and career guidance sessions.
  4. Collaborate with other institutional bodies to address academic and personal challenges faced by SEDG students.
  5. Ensure the implementation of equity initiatives and monitor their impact.

The SEDG Cell plays a vital role in fostering an inclusive academic environment by bridging social and economic gaps. Through continuous support and awareness initiatives, it empowers students to achieve academic excellence, self-reliance, and social confidence, contributing to the institution’s vision of equitable and inclusive education for all.
